Well, here we are — week two.
If you're new here, welcome to Online Income After 60. I started this blog because I refuse to believe that "learning something new" has an age limit. And this month, the "something new" is a platform called Profit Hub System, which I signed up for to finally build a proper home base for my little online business.
I want to be completely transparent with you as I go, because I think that's the only way this works. So here's exactly where I'm at: I have one lead. That's it. One. My YouTube channel is brand new. My email list — I'm using Send Shark for that — currently has zero subscribers on it. Zero!
So no, this isn't a "look how much money I made" post. This is a "come learn alongside me" post. If you're over 60 and wondering whether it's too late to start something like this, I promise you — I'm asking myself the same question most mornings with my coffee. Let's just ask it together.
Why a "Home Base" Actually Matters
Here's something I wish someone had explained to me years ago: you can post on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, wherever — but none of that is actually yours. The platform owns the rules, and the rules can change overnight.
A home base is different. It's your own website, your own funnel, your own list of people who chose to hear from you. Nobody can take that away or change the algorithm on you.
That's the whole idea behind Profit Hub System — it's built as an all-in-one home base. Funnels, a website, email and SMS tools, and an affiliate system, all under one roof, instead of me trying to duct-tape together six different subscriptions like I used to.
Confession: I Still Lean on Claude and ChatGPT
Now, Profit Hub System does give you a genuinely good library of tutorial videos — I want to be fair about that. But here's my honest truth: I still find myself opening up Claude or ChatGPT in another tab constantly, especially when I'm wrestling with the Divi builder in WordPress.
Can we talk about Divi for a second? I remember WordPress from years ago being... simple. You typed, you clicked publish, done. Now there are modules and rows and columns and settings inside settings, and for those of us over 60 who didn't grow up with this stuff, it can honestly feel like being handed the cockpit of an airplane when all you wanted was a bicycle.
That's exactly why I keep an AI chat open while I work. When I get stuck on something in Divi, I just describe what I'm trying to do in plain English and ask for step-by-step help. No judgment, no rushing me, and I can ask the "dumb question" a hundred times if I need to. If you're intimidated by the tech side of this, I really can't recommend that combo enough — the tutorials to learn the platform, and an AI chatbot sitting next to you for the moment-to-moment "wait, how do I do THIS" questions.
About the Affiliate Side of Things
I'll be upfront — yes, I am an affiliate for Profit Hub System. I'm not just using the platform, I'm also sharing it, because part of what drew me in was the affiliate/referral system built right into the dashboard. The idea is that as you use the platform and recommend it to others, there's real earning potential in that too.
I'm not going to sit here and quote you numbers or percentages, because honestly, I think anyone promising you exact income figures before you've even started is getting ahead of themselves — and I'd rather earn your trust than throw a big shiny number at you. What I can tell you is: it's part of why I sense there's real potential here, and if you're curious about the specifics, I'd encourage you to look at the platform's own current details directly rather than take secondhand numbers from anybody, including me.
Free (ish) Ways I'm Getting the Word Out
Since I'm just starting out, I'm not spending big on ads. Right now my traffic plan is refreshingly simple:
- YouTube — brand new channel, learning as I go
- Daily Ads — using this to market for free while I find my footing
- That's genuinely it, for now.
No fancy funnrel hacks, no paid traffic yet. Just showing up consistently and being honest about the process, which — if I'm honest — is probably the best marketing there is anyway.
